Junta forces have launched a series of coordinated attacks on Tha Yet Lay Pin Village in southern Pauk Township, Magway Region, deploying airstrikes, artillery, and drones. The assault left two civilians injured and caused significant damage to multiple houses, according to local sources.
At approximately 9:00 a.m. today (November 9), a fighter jet from the Tada-U Air Base carried out an unprovoked bombing of Tha Yet Lay Pin Village, according to sources from the People Defense Force – Pauk Township (PDF – Pauk Township).
“There were two bombing rounds, and the impact left a deep crater about six to seven feet wide. We estimate the bombs could have been 500-pound explosives,” Ko Sit, spokesperson of the PDF – Pauk Township told MPA.
Following the air strike, artillery units from no.14 defense industry, stationed in Pauk Township, continued the assault using 81mm mortar shells, while the Military Council’s troops based in Pauk Town deployed drones to drop additional bombs on the village.
“There were no clashes here; Tha Yet Lay Pin Village is a peaceful community with no military presence. Two civilians were injured, though their injuries are not severe. Five houses were destroyed, and six cows were killed in the attack,” he added.
Tha Yet Lay Pin Village, located approximately three miles from Pauk Town, experienced its first air strike today, according to local sources.
