The Urban Special Operation (USO) has reported a missile attack on the Hmawbi Air Base in Yangon, launching four long-range missiles as part of their ongoing mission against junta forces.
Four long-range missiles were launched simultaneously at the Hmawbi Air Base around 1:00 AM on Saturday. The casualties are yet to be reported, according to the USO’s information officer.
“The missiles used in the mission are upgraded and have more power than the 107mm ones. The advantage is that they are very effective for missions, which are usually difficult to approach enemy territory. However, they require more caution, as they can also cause significant damage,” the source told MPA.
The strike targeted the air force’s aircraft storage facilities and officer residences, with all resistance members reported to have safely withdrawn from the mission area.
“The junta soldiers are highly likely to sustain casualties. Ground reports indicate security checks and lockdowns were imposed throughout the night following the attack,” the source added.
This attack on Hmawbi Air Base is USO’s 14th mission, conducted as retaliation for the junta’s ongoing airstrikes on civilian areas.
