The Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) has pledged to strengthen its alliance with revolutionary forces operating in Central Myanmar, according to BPLA Commander Maung Saung Kha.
BPLA is establishing its base in the central region of Myanmar, preparing for military operations, Maung Saung Kha announced this on his Facebook page on October 27, marking the anniversary of Operation 1027.
“As we base ourselves in Central Myanmar, we aim to build good relations with both MOD/PDF battalions and other non-MOD forces, striving for the quickest possible success of the revolution. BPLA will act on behalf of the Bamar ethnic group and gradually seek recognition from the Burmese population,” Maung Suang Kha said.
Maung Saung Kha also emphasized BPLA’s intention to collaborate closely with all local armed forces in the central region despite not being under the NUG/MOD.
“In Central Myanmar’s Revolution, we believe BPLA would fill a crucial gap by serving as a bridge, cooperating with the NUG/MOD and other ethnic revolutionary organizations (EROs), aspiring for a genuine Burmese force that can represent the entire Bamar ethnic group,” commented Yebaw Ahnyarthar, leader of Doh Ah Nyar Revolutionary Force.
The BPLA, led by poet Maung Saung Kha, is an armed revolutionary group formed after the 2021 coup and participated in both phases of Operation 1027 alongside the Northern Brotherhood Alliance.
Founded on April 17, 2021, in Karen National Union (KNU) territory, the BPLA has conducted military training and operations with support from ethnic armed groups in Karen and Shan States.
The BPLA is currently expanding its forces and recruiting new members, as announced on its Facebook page on October 13.
