Military Junta conducted an airstrike on Aima Village in HtilinTownship, Magway Region, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to four others, according to local reports.
The attack occurred today (22 October) at around 1:00 PM. Despite the absence of any ongoing clashes near Aima Village, the military targeted civilians, dropping a total of eight bombs and firing rockets and machine guns, a local resident said.
“There were about three rounds of bombing, lasting for around 45 minutes. Each time, two bombs were dropped together. They also fired rockets and .50 caliber rounds. One bomb landed in the school, two fell in the western fields, and two more hit houses near the village monastery. Several homes in the eastern part of the village were also struck,” the resident told MPA.
The victim was identified as Daw Mar Lar Htwe, a 50-year-old woman, and one of the injured is reported to be in critical condition.
The airstrike damaged four houses, a school building, and a rural health clinic in Aima Village.
Earlier this month, on 5 October , a military airstrike on Kyin Village in Thayin Township killed five civilians and injured five others.
