The military conducted a midnight airstrike targeting civilians in Lashio, injuring several people.
The junta aircraft dropped two bombs on Lashio around 12:00 AM on October 22. Despite the bombs hitting the civilian home on Shan Taung Tan Road before Mansu in Ward 12, there were no reported fatalities, according to Freedom Youth Volunteers, a local humanitarian group.
“With China’s blind support of the terrorist military junta, it continues relentless bombings and killing Myanmar civilians. This bombing in Lashio is no surprise as the attacks have become successive,” a Lashio-based revolutionary fighter told MPA.
The exact number of injured people during today’s airstrike is yet to be confirmed by Freedom Youth Volunteers.
“Some people are fleeing the city because they’re being bombed almost every night. Those who remain don’t feel safe sleeping in their homes anymore, so they sleep in places they think are safer. At night, they relocate to sleep elsewhere,” the source added.
The junta airstrikes on towns controlled by the MNDAA, TNLA, and KIA forces have been frequent, almost in succession during recent days.
