The NUG Minister of Defense, U Yee Mon, visited and encouraged the victorious resistance combatants involved in the Pinlebu town-seizing operation in Sagaing Region.
The NUG Defense Minister, U Yee Mon visited to meet with the defense forces on October 10, according to the report from the NUG Ministry of Defense on October 15.
“The minister visited us on the ground and spoke motivating words. We have mutual respect and warmth between us and the minister. That doesn’t exist in the military junta. We, as members of the People’s Defense Forces, feel compassion. Acknowledging our efforts and support fuel us for the journey ahead,” said the acting commander of Strategic Column 42, who participated in the battle for Pinlebu.
Defense Minister U Yee Mon also met with surrendered junta soldiers who had defected to the resistance following inspecting the recently captured Pinlebu Town.
“On the ground, there is a strong mutual trust between us and the leadership. The three Pa-s: Pa Ka Pha(People’s Defense Team), Pa Ah Pha (People’s Administration Team), Pa La Pha (People’s Security Team), and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) are united as one on the battlefield. That is why we have won the battles. We are determined to march together until the authoritarian regime is dismantled,” the source added.
The coalition of revolutionary forces began their attack on Pinlebu on August 15 and successfully captured the town on October 8.
During the battle, around 70 junta soldiers were killed, 275 went missing, 225 were injured, 48 defected and 120 were captured alive with weapons and ammunition.
