It has been reported that a civilian was killed after being hit by a bomb during two airstrikes conducted by the State Administration Council (SAC) near Yayshinma village in the northern part of Gangaw Township, Magway Region.
According to a local man from Yayshinma village, the airstrike took place around 12:30 PM today (5 October), targeting a location west of the village, where a meeting between officials from the Gangaw Township People Defense Force (PDF) and the Gangaw Township People’s Administration was reportedly being held.
“The fighter jet came from the direction of Kale. It dropped bombs twice. The first time, it dropped one bomb, and the second time, two bombs were dropped. The bombs missed the meeting site and landed on the road near a pagoda west of the village, where a man tending cattle was hit,” the local man told MPA.
The person who was killed was reportedly so severely dismembered that identification has not yet been possible.
Following the airstrike, residents of Yayshinma village fled to safer areas, leaving only a few villagers remaining in the village.
On the night of 2 October, at around 10:30 PM, SAC Army also dropped two bombs in another location in Tilin Township, but no civilians were harmed in that incident.
