A fire broke out at the Ye-U Police Station in Sagaing Region following reports of multiple explosions.
Today, October 2, around 2:40 PM, the Police Station was on fire after explosions were heard, according to a resident of Ye-U.
“We heard a loud ‘boom’ from the police station, and when we went out to check, we saw a plume of smoke. About 10 minutes after the first explosion, we heard another loud ‘boom,’ like a drone attack,” the resident told MPA.
Following the explosions, gunshots were heard from inside the police station.
“The police station was on fire. After a while, only smoke could be seen. The fire station is not far from the police station, but it’s unclear if they managed to put out the fire. We didn’t hear the sound of the fire engines, but we did hear three gunshots from inside the police station,” the source continued.
There is still no information on casualties or the extent of the damage caused by the fire at the Ye-U Police Station.
No local PDF groups have reported the drone bomb attack.
