In the early hours of September 29, the Central Military Command (Lapakha) inside Mandalay Palace was attacked with short-range rockets, reportedly injuring around 20 soldiers, according to the report from Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM).
On September 29, at approximately 2:30 AM, six 107mm short-range rockets were launched, targeting the Central Military Command with four rockets successfully hitting the targets, according to Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM).
“Resistance fighters infiltrated the area, passing through the junta checkpoints, launched the rockets, and escaped undetected. They were attacked so suddenly that they did not know where to follow. About 15 minutes later, two military trucks began patrolling the area with the lights on,” a representative from Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) told MPA.
During the attack, two rockets hit barracks housing both active-duty soldiers from military training batch-3 and ex-servicemen in the Central Military Command, in preparation to launch an offensive in Northern Shan State, reportedly injuring around 20 of them.
“The fatalities of junta soldiers have not been reported yet. The remaining two rockets landed in an open field. That is all the information reported as we speak, with further damage assessments ongoing,” the source added.
The military council has been preparing for the Yan Naing Min Operation to launch an offensive in Northern Shan State and strengthen the Central Military Command according to the BWM statement.
This is the third rocket attack of Shadow Mandalay Group on the Central Military Command, orchestrated by the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM).
BWM and its allied groups launched two similar strikes on the Central Military Command in December 2023 and September 2024,
