Around 2 AM today, the military council launched airstrikes on Lashio, a town under the control of the MNDAA, while most civilians were asleep, according to reports.
Today (September 25), the military dropped three bombs at 2:15 AM, 2:18 AM, and 2:22 AM; one bomb landed on the GTI campus in Ward 12 and the other two landed in the monastery at the front of AT military base with no reported civilian casualties, according to Freedom Youth Volunteers-FYV.
“There was no ongoing battle, yet they dropped bombs. Just like I said yesterday, they want civilians to be afraid to live in Lashio under MNDAA control. So, they are targeting and killing civilians. Now, the residents here can’t even sleep at night, constantly terrified of when the next bomb will hit their homes,” a local revolutionary from Lashio told MPA.
On September 24, the military bombed the town, killing one local woman and injuring 16 others, with many houses destroyed, according to MNDAA.
The town has been repeatedly bombed, with airstrikes on September 21, September 10, September 9, and August 30.
