MDY-PDF has donated 500 bags of rice and 15 million Kyats to internally displaced people (IDPs) in Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, according to the statement released today (September 19).
Villagers from Upper Nyaunggone, Lower Nyaunggone, Phyuyaung, Kyauktalone, and Lweimoon Villages in Mogok Township, who were displaced due to the 1027 military operation were provided with each household receiving one sack of rice and 50,000 Kyats in cash.
Ko Asmond, a spokesperson for MDY-PDF, said, “This is not our first donation. We have previously donated to Nyaungcho and Singu Townships. This is the first time we are donating to Mogok, and we are working to continue these efforts.”
MDY-PDF also expressed gratitude to local charity organizations in Mogok who helped facilitate the distribution of the aid.
On July 24, the coalition forces of TNLA and People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) managed to fully capture Mogok.
