The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has been involved in the multi-front battles during the second wave of Operation 1027.
PLA reported that it has been conducting military operations across several fronts in Northern Shan State, Mandalay, Sagaing, and Magway Regions to strengthen the second phase of Operation 1027 which resumed on June 25.
PLA General Secretary Yebaw Nini Kyaw told MPA, “We are conducting operations in Madaya, Pale, Pakokku, and Buthalin. Additionally, we continue to target the Thabeikkyin 7-Mile Military Training Depot and the No.13 Advanced Military Training Depot (Tataka-13).”
PLA soldiers, along with allied forces, have been actively engaged in battles for the capture of Lashio, Momeik, No. 148 Infantry Battalion at Thabeikkyin, Hpawttaw Junction Clash, battles to seize Twinnge Police Station and Kin Chaung Outpost, taking the responsibility to blockade between Tangyan and Lashio, as well as Mogok and Thabeikkyin, Yebaw Nini Kyaw added.
“During the battles, some of our comrades have been wounded and others have fallen. We have not officially announced any details yet, but when the time comes, we will inform the public,” the source said.
Furthermore, PLA has reportedly taken care of 138 elephants in 21 Elephant Camps across Thabeikkyin and Singu Townships.
“During the clashes, the elephant’s handlers, veterinarians, along with their families and elephants sought refuge with the PLA’s 222 Battalion stationed in Singu and Thabeikkyin. We have been providing them with food and basic necessities,” the source explained.
PLA participated in the first wave of Operation 1027 and has continued its balanced involvement in the second wave, pledging to persist in its fight to eradicate military dictators, military bureaucracy, and military groups and to liberate the entire oppressed people.
