In Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, the junta troops on patrol were attacked and one member was killed, according to reports.
On September 17, around 1:30 PM, around 15 soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members from Sin Chaung Pyu Village were assaulted by PDF allied forces between Kone Ta Lin and Zee Kone Villages, according to the Yesagyo Township People’s Defense Team (Pa Ka Pha).
“The junta troops were patrolling on foot. We knew they were coming, so we launched a sudden attack on them. There was an exchange of firing from both sides for over half an hour,” said the information officer from the Yesagyo Township People’s Defense Team to MPA.
In the clash, one Pyu Saw Htee member was confirmed dead, and during a clearance operation afterward, a 60mm mortar shell and a phone were reportedly captured.
“There were probably two or three injured. We can confirm that one Pyu Saw Htee member died on the spot,” the source added.
After the attack, the junta forces retreated to Sin Chaung Pyu Village.
MPA could not independently verify the number of casualties on the junta side.
