U Thein Oo, Minister of Justice of the National Unity Government (NUG) said that they will take legal action against government officials who have not joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (Non-CDM) and are collaborating with the State Administration Council (SAC), causing harm to the civilians.
Policies have been meticulously drafted by both the NUG and the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) to address this issue. Action will be taken against Non-CDM government officials based on their individual offenses in accordance with existing laws, U Thein Oo stated.
“Whether they are Non-CDM government officials, civilians, or other individuals, if they are working with the SAC to harm the public in any way, we will take necessary action against them at the appropriate time based on their involvement,” he said.
It was further noted that legal consequences would not only apply to those actively serving as SAC informants but also to those benefiting financially or otherwise through their collaboration with SAC.
He also said during today’s press briefing (11 September) on “Interim Efforts to Uphold the Rule of Law” that non-CDM government officials who engage in activities that harm civilians will be prosecuted under the Counter-Terrorism Law.
