The Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Duwa Lashi La, stated that the junta’s ground forces are weakening and crumbling as the resistance war intensifies.
On September 7, he made these remarks during his address, marking the third anniversary of the declaration of the People’s Resistance War.
“The current waves of the resistance are gradually dismantling the junta’s military mechanisms, bringing its end closer. These are not just words but actions proven through the resistance over the past three years. More evident and realistic victories by the people will follow,” he stated.
Duwa Lashi La further pointed out that during the three years, the resistance war has evolved into well-organized strategic military offensives.
Ethnic armed groups have not only established liberated zones and controlled territories but have also expanded military alliances among different ethnic forces, leading to coordinated operations against the junta, the Acting President added.
The junta, on the other hand, has been resorting to desperate tactics, including continuous airstrikes on civilian targets, attempting to cover up its mounting losses.
“International assistance remains the paramount requirement to the Spring Revolution. But until today, international assistance is merely a word and a statement. Let alone the military assistance, they haven’t even offered protection to civilians affected by the military’s attacks. Despite the urgent needs, the international community seems content to just sit back and watch,” a political activist based in Monywa told MPA.
Duwa Lashi La reaffirmed that the justified resistance war would inevitably lead to victory, with the fruits of the struggle reaching all the people of Myanmar.
