The State Administration Council (SAC) Army bombed two villages in Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region, dropping six bombs without apparent reason, injuring a young man.
At around 5:30 PM on 5 September, SAC forces dropped six bombs from a jet fighter on Sueyitkone and Phalankone villages, according to the People’s Defense Team – Natogyi Township (Pa Ka Pha – Natogyi).
“They bombed Sueyitkone Village while hovering over the area three times. In the first pass, they dropped three bombs, followed by two more in the second. Then, they dropped one bomb on Phalankone Village. An 18-year-old man from Sueyitkone got a back injury from the blast,” the Information Officer of Pa Ka Pha – Natogyi told MPA.
Earlier that same day, at around 5:00 AM on 5 September, SAC forces fired artillery on the eastern and northeastern areas of Sunloon Village in Taungtha Township, injuring three civilians, according to reports.
On 29 August, following an attack by the People’s Defense Force on a military outpost in Kokkothee Village, west of the Yangon-Mandalay highway, SAC forces conducted airstrikes on Sueyitkone and Kokkothee villages. The airstrikes caused a house in Sueyitkone Village to burn down.
Local People’s Defense Forces are currently operating under the Myingyan District Special Operation (MDSO). They captured Natogyi Town on 10 August, the start date of the operation, but withdrew from the town today.
