NUCC (National Unity Consultative Council) has strongly condemned a threatening letter from the National Security Committee of Ruili, China, containing derogatory and insulting language, to the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).
NUCC issued this statement in response to the letter, which was sent on August 29, 2024, and addressed to the TNLA, captioning a warning about military training exercises. The letter reportedly contained derogatory and threatening language, indicating that more severe punitive actions would be taken if TNLA persisted in its activities. NUCC strongly disapproves of this crude and aggressive behavior acted upon one of its allied revolutionary forces, the TNLA, which represents the Ta’ang people, an ethnic group with sovereignty, in the statement released today (August 31).
NUCC also urged the National Security Committee of Ruili to withdraw the letter and respect the ethnic groups and people of Myanmar in accordance with international laws and ethical standards.
According to the statement, the people of Myanmar are made up of various ethnic groups that value peace, development, and friendly relations with neighboring countries. Nevertheless, as a result of the oppressive actions of the military dictatorship, they have been left with no choice but to engage in a revolution. NUCC also urged the Republic of China and regional authorities near the border to understand the suffering of Myanmar’s people under military rule and offer support fostering stronger bonds of friendship and cooperation.
The threatening letter from China warned TNLA to immediately cease fighting or face stricter punitive measures from China.
