Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) announced that 270 government officials who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDMers) signed up to operate in Lashio administration departments.
It is reported that not only the administration departments have re-operated in Lashio but also the health care sector started running with CDMers.
“This reveals the declaration of MNDAA that they will establish a strong administration in Lashio. And, announcing the administration will operate with CDMers, who are one of the essential forces of the Spring Revolution, is a very satisfying message for the people. But for the State Administration Council (SAC), it is horrifying news,” said a soldier of the People Defense Force (PDF) based in Northern Shan State.
Since August 13, the MNDAA has started accepting registrations from CDMers for their service. It has been reported that the education sector will soon be able to resume operations.
The MNDAA stated that they are warmly welcoming the CDMers of Lashio City with honor and they also welcome CDMers from other townships.
According to reports, CDM members who want to sign up need to provide a copy of the termination letter from their former department of the SAC. If they don’t have the letter, they require a letter of recommendation from another CDMer.
MNDAA stated that they would resume operations of other departments based on the returns of residents of Lashio City who fled during the battles.
