According to reports, the SAC army is setting fire to civilians’ houses daily in Tabayin City.
According to People Defense Team – Tabayin township (Pa Ka Pha-Tabayin), after the capture of Tabayin city by Resistance Forces in the morning of 18 August, the SAC Army reoccupied the city in the evening with massive forces and starting from that time, they are burning down the houses in the center of the city up on to this day.
“We captured the city on 18 August. But, they reoccupied the city in the evening. They started burning from 19 August till this day. As for today, they started burning at 9:00 AM. They burnt houses in the center of the city and Kanpya village which is connected with the city. They are mainly burning the city center so, I hope some outskirts will be left intact,” a member of Pa Ka Pha-Tabayin told MPA.
According to the reports, Resistance Forces are evacuating civilians from Tabayin city but a few are still left.
“The elders and some people who are taking care of them are still left to evacuate,” he continued.
MPA still doesn’t know the exact number of houses that were destroyed by the SAC troops.
During the capture of Tabayin city, 18 SAC soldiers died as well as 4 soldiers of People Defense Force (PDF) were.
The no.1 Military Division of PDF announced that after the capture of Tabayin city by PDF, they rescued 72 civilians, 20 prisoners, 40 active government officials, and 2 Pyu Saw Htee militias who surrendered and also captured a massive amount of weapons and ammunition.
