It is reported that troops of the SAC Army robbed travel vehicles twice in a day in Myingyan city, located in the Mandalay region.
According to a traveler, police officers robbed four travel vehicles between Zeepinkone village and Kyaukkone village on the Myingyan-Nabuing road at around 7:30 AM on 27th August.
“There were four personnel. There were also other personnel in the field, I think in the peanut field. There was no violence. They took all the phones, gold necklaces, and money. One of the travelers lost valuable items worth 2,000,000 Myanmar Kyat (MMK),” a traveler told MPA.
It was also reported that 10 soldiers and police officers robbed 10 vehicles, including small and large cars, near the lake located north of Kokeke police station in Myingyan township at around 1:30 PM.
“There were around 10 of them. There were also ambush patrols behind the lake. They were all middle-aged men around 35-45 years old. They were armed and took all valuables,” he continued.
The Myingyan People Movement Committee has advised civilians not to use the Myingyan-Nabuing road, except in emergencies, due to the robberies of SAC troops targeting travel vehicles.
