In Hsipaw, Shan State, a man living inside the house was reportedly killed by the artillery shell fired by the junta troops.
On August 25, around 1 PM, the artillery shell landed on the house in the Western Ward of Hsipaw, according to a close associate of the deceased.
“The deceased man lived in the Western Ward of Hsipaw where the shell landed around 1 PM. The shell hit him; his wife was safe. He passed away while the charity groups arrived and were preparing to send him to the hospital,” the source told MPA.
The deceased is a 45-year-old man named Ko Win Naing. Since he died before arriving at the hospital, the body was reportedly delivered to the mortuary in Hsipaw.
“The military condition in Hsipaw remains calm. But there are artillery firings from time to time, including today, yesterday, and previous days,” the source added.
Between August 1 and 24, the junta conducted aerial attacks and artillery shelling in Hsipaw, killing 17 civilians and injuring 57 others, according to the TNLA statement on August 25.
