It is reported that a youngster aged about 8 years old had a leg amputated and a woman was injured while the SAC’s artillery exploded at Paungkatar village, Salingyi township, Sagaing region.
According to a resident of No.6 sub-township, Salingyi township, the artillery shell fired by the Ma Au gate (the SAC’s camping site), Monywa township burst at Paungkatar and Thegawgyi villages, Salingyi township at about 1:30 PM today (23 August).
“They fired 120-MM mortars, and 4 of them hit our village. An 8-year-old child had to have a leg amputated during the artillery attack on Paungkatar village. One additional woman was injured. It hit the monastery in Thegawgyi village. We don’t know about the casualties any further,” he claimed.
The civilians of Paungkatar villages are fleeing from the war for those artillery attacks.
It is alleged that a pregnant woman from Kutoetkone village, Salingyi township had an abortion due to the injury by the artillery shell fired by the Ma Au gate on 14 August.
