TNLA reported that clashes occurred between their forces and the junta troops that were sent as reinforcements from Yatsauk to Nawnghkio in Shan State.
At around 9 AM on August 21, clashes broke out at the 902 military base in Tawnghkam Village, as well as at the military base in Thayet Cho and Kambawza Monastery in Nawnghkio Township.
During the battle at the 902 military base in Tawnghkam Village, the military launched an airstrike using a jet fighter, according to TNLA.
On August 20, there were also two reported clashes that occurred in the villages of Thayet Cho and Tawnghkam.
