According to sources, the State Administration Council (SAC) Army launched an airstrike on a monastery in Kunohn Village, Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region for no reason, killing one civilian and injuring six others, including a monk.
According to the People Defense Force – Natogyi (PDF-Natogyi), at about 1:00 PM on August 20th (today), the SAC Army launched three airstrikes on a monastery in Kunohn Village, Natogyi Township, without any reason.
“They attacked three times from the air. They bombed twice before firing weapons on their final attack. The bombs burst in Kunonh Village’s monastery and nearby dwellings,” the in charge of PDF-Natogyi told MPA.
According to reports, three out of six injured civilians are in severe condition.
“Pa Ka Pha-Natogyi (People Defense Team) provides medical treatment to them. They attacked a monastery where there was no battle,” he added.
According to reports, PDF troops began Myingyan District Special Operation (MDSO) in Natogyi, Myingyan, and Taungtha townships on August 10, and as a result, the SAC Army is launching more airstrikes on civilian targets there.
