According to the source of on-ground comrades, SAC’s army was bombing by airstrike at the areas which are not the military target while the local defense forces were attacking to seize Yaemyetni military base, Tilin township, Magway region at about 3:00 AM 15 August 2024.
“We can’t say anything about the battle condition. But, the battles are intensifying,” a comrade of the local defense force told MPA.
During these intensifying conditions, SAC’s army bombed by jet fighters at 7:00 AM on 15 August and dropped about 50 bombs by Y-12 reconnaissance aircraft at the areas which are not the military target at about 10:00 AM.
“They were bombing restlessly at where they wished. It was in the surrounding jungles of the battlefield. The bombing was clustered. They dropped 3-4 bombs per once. I heard there were no casualties from the aerial attack today,” a local resident of Tawma village said.
Furthermore, while SAC’s army dropped a 300-pound bomb at the Tawma village side road at about 7:00 PM on 14 August, a civilian died and two more people including a child were injured.
“The aircraft flew from the south. The bomb was dropped at the south of the house. When we heard the news an aircraft was coming, we were talking. Then, while I was running into the bomb-proof shelter and she was running into her house, the shells hit her head and hands so that she died on the spot,” a local man from Tawma side-road who encountered the bombing event said.
The person who died due to SAC’s airstrike was Daw Tin Tin Aye aged 36 years old and her daughter aged 11 years old was injured in her arm, face, and feet (minor injury) and a woman aged 23 years old was injured in her abdomen (minor injury).
Additionally, according to the source of Pa Ah Pha (People Administration Team), while the SAC’s troops in Tilin City marched the nearby villages, they took over 100 tinn (unit of measure for grain, a basket which holds 16 pyi of grain) of grain, over 40 tinn of rice, cooking oil, salt, soup, and some groceries from Tharakhar, Ponnar, and Htanpinkone villages.
“We heard that the column is near Kunse village today. We don’t know more. We still can’t collect the data,” Ko Thant Sin who is in charge of Pa Ah Pha (People Administration Team) on the west side of Tilin township said.
It was reported that the local residents were worried since SAC’s jet fighters and reconnaissance aircraft were flying daily in Tilin township these days.
