In Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, PDF forces conducted a sudden assault on the military convoy, injuring many junta soldiers.
On August 14, around 4 PM, a military column of 40 troops which had left Hintha Pyu Militia Village in Yesagyo Township, was attacked between Hintha Pyu Village and Koyint Village. The skirmish lasted about 40 minutes, and many junta soldiers were injured, according to the Yesagyo Township People’s Defense Team’s report.
“They were heading for Koyint Village. We saw and shot them first. Our comrades saw three soldiers being dragged to safety. We don’t know the casualties in detail as they were in a column,” the information officer of Yesagyo People’s Defense Team told MPA.
After the skirmish, the junta air force reportedly conducted airstrikes using Mi 35 for half an hour in the neighborhood of the incident.
“They conducted an aerial attack just after the incident. They shot the nearby area where the skirmish occurred,” the source continued.
The military column, upon being attacked, entered Koyint Village and today (August 15), there were reports of clashes with PDFs in the morning.
On the evening of August 14, the artillery shell fired by the column hit a civilian from Nwarhtein Village, sustaining minor injuries.
