In Myingyan Public Hospital, Mandalay Region, medical staff and patients were forced to move out to prepare defense positions at the hospital.
On August 14 (Today), around 1 PM, the junta troops were stationed at the Public Hospital and Home for Aged in Myingyan, according to the source from the Myingyan District People’s Defense Team.
“All the patients in Myingyan Hospital were discharged, with doctors and nurses restricted from coming to the hospital. The junta troops, transported by five military FAW trucks, were deployed at the Home for Aged which is close to the Hospital, preparing for defense positions,” the source added.
There have been rumors about revolutionary forces’ siege on Myingyan with all the department processes being defunct, according to the announcement of the Myingyan People’s Strike Committee today.
“We know that no one is going to work at the junta offices. Non CDM staff who are not native to Myingyan fled to somewhere with local Non CDM staff staying at homes. It is sure that departmental processes have been halted,” the source added.
It is also reported that some elite local residents have been seeking refuge in Bagan-Nyaung U.
“We are just doing our jobs as usual, I don’t know the rest,” said a female staff at Myingyan Municipal Office in response to MPA’s inquiry.
On August 10, after PDFs raided Natogyi, the administrative mechanism in Myingyan started to be defunct.
Leader of Myingyan Pyu Saw Htee Militia, Thida Yu Mon challenged with a post on her facebook page saying,” If you have any spare life, do enter the town. I am waiting.”
Today, Myingyan residents are seen traveling around the town as usual, according to the source from Myingyan District People’s Defense Team.
