In Salingyi Township, Sagaing Region, a pregnant woman has been critically injured by an artillery shell fired by the military council’s troops.
Today (August 14), around 2:30 PM, an artillery shell fired from Ma-U Gate in Monywa Township landed in Kutoet Kone village, Salingyi Township, severely injuring the pregnant woman, according to Ko Thura from Circuit 6 in Salingyi Township.
“They fired three 120mm shells. The woman was hit by pieces of the shells, and it struck her pelvis area. Since she’s pregnant, her life is at serious risk,” Ko Thura told MPA.
On August 13th, artillery shells fired from Ma-U Gate also landed in the market at Htanang Taw (Southern) village in Monywa Township, killing 11 civilians and injuring 21 others.
