It is reported that a “8888” banner was hung at a location in Yangon to commemorate the 36th anniversary of the 8888 Uprising.
Today, on August 8, members of the Anti-Junta Alliance Yangon (AJAY) hung the “8888 banner” to protest against military dictatorship, according to the General Strike Coordination Body – GSCB.
Additionally, a banner urging junta soldiers to quickly break free from the rule of Min Aung Hlaing’s collapsing military group and join forces with the people, was also hung together.
AJAY stated that they encourage the entire population to continue steadfastly on the path paved with the blood of all the martyrs of the 8888 Uprising and other historic struggles until the final victory is achieved and “the people’s triumph” prevails.
