Today (August 8), the 36th anniversary of the 8888 Democracy Uprising was commemorated by ABSDF Column-3.
The ceremony was held at 8:00 AM today by Battalion 12 of Column-3, All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF), Student Army, in the Yaw region with the presence of local defense forces, People’s Defense Teams and Administrative Teams, PDFs, and local monks and residents, according to a statement from ABSDF Column-3.
During the ceremony, tribute was paid to the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives in Myanmar’s struggles for democracy. The statement marking the 36th anniversary of the 8888 Democracy Uprising issued by the central committee of ABSDF was also read out followed by the speeches and discussions about the significance and history of the 8888 Democracy Uprising.
