It is said that one monk died and many civilians were injured due to an airstrike launched by the State Administration Council (SAC)’s army on southern Pauk township, Magway region without any reason.
According to a southern Pauk township local man, around 1:30PM 7 August (today), SAC’s army bombed a monastery in Ywarthitkone village, southern Pauk township via a jet fighter and that aircraft fired machine gun along the way from Ywarthitkone village to Say Pingyi village.
“It was only a bomb. But there were a lot of machine gun shots. They fired along the way from Ywarthitkone village to Say Pingyi village. The dead monk was a guest. Civilian casualties were quite high,” he told MPA.
Even though the civilian casualties are quite high, we still don’t know the number and details due to unstable conditions.
“There are war refugees in that monastery. The bomb exploded right after the meal of war refugees. There are a lot of amputated hands and legs,” he continued.
It is said that aircrafts of SAC’s army are still in the air of southern Pauk township till 3:00 PM today.
