Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) announced that 380 women died in 7 months of 2024 due to the State Administration Council.
AAPP also said that they have confirmed the death of 380 women with the names who died during 1 January – 31 July 2024 nationwide.
“179 out of 380 deaths of women were caused by artillery strikes and Sagaing region is a region in which there was the most number of deaths with 122 deaths,” an in-charge of AAPP told MPA.
During that 7 months, SAC arrested 123 women with political reasons and 122 out of them are still in detention.
AAPP announced that starting from the detention, those female political prisoners who were arrested across the nation have been facing life threatening unjust actions and prison transfers including interrogations and unjust tortures by prison officials, and AAPP has also announced they have solid data of prison transfer of 58 female political prisoners with their names from Insein prison in Yangon region to Daik-U prison in Bago region on 21 July.
