It is reported that some university students in Bago Region have been abducted by the military junta to serve in the military.
According to the records and research department of the Association for the Assistance of Political Prisoners (AAPP), junta troops arrested young people in most states and regions for the second batch of military service training in May and sent them to military training schools. Among them are ten students who are still studying at Paya University in Bago Division and around ten university students from Paungde, Thaekone, Nattalin, and Zigone townships, according to the Record and Research Department of the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners Burma (AAPP).

“As far as some draftees are from Pyay University, we know that there are also around ten university students from others. All is boys,” an AAPP official told MPA.
According to the AAPP, the names of the universities attended by the students abducted from the townships of Paungde, Thaekone, Nattalin, and Zikone to serve in the military are not yet known.
“We don’t have details on the names, ages, or universities of the abducted students; our information is based on media monitoring,” he added.
A CDM student from Pyay University stated that student’s risk being called up for military service at any time if they attend school, as they are required to provide their personal information.
“The military junta will do anything to strengthen its forces. The enemy is advancing slowly and steadily, so everything needs to be handled delicately,” she said.
The second batch of military service training commenced on May 14th, following the opening of the first batch by the military junta on April 8th.
