The junta troops who were patrolling towards Shan Myaung Village, Matara Township, Mandalay Region, shot six civilians for no reason.
When the junta troops were patrolling Shan Sury village in Matara Township in four cars and a motorcycle at around 10:00 p.m. on December 30th, they shot and killed six people, according to Matara Township’s People Defense Force (Pa-Ka-Hpa under the NUG).
“The mother of the owner of the BE Gypsum Fertilizer Plant was also killed. And the other five civilians. That’s all we know. The BE plant is in Shan Myaung,” he said.
The bodies of the deceased were found in front of the BE plant in Shan Myaung Village. Locals don’t know why they were shot.
The bodies of the deceased were taken away by the junta army this morning (December 31).
“We only know that six people were killed. And we only know that the soldiers who patrolled towards Shan Myaung shot them dead,” said a local.
The victims are one woman and five men. Their identities are not yet known.
