The Military troops reportedly called the junta airstrike support after they were attacked while patrolling Pale township in Sagaing Region.
“Local PDFs attacked the junta troops patrolling villages from Pale town near Mya Gone village at around 1:00 p.m. today,” according to some local news sources.
A helicopter Mi 35 reportedly arrived and attacked for about 45 minutes at around 2:00 pm today.
“The military clashed with our PDFs near Mya Gone village when the military troops were patrolling villages from the town. The casualties are not known yet,” a Pale resident said.
After the battle, the military junta entered Mya Gone village and set fire to public houses. The number of houses burnt to ashes is unknown yet.
“There are many internally displaced people. We have prepared landmines on the road as the military column has come out. We have prepared the rest of the military preparations according to the military situation, so it’s not convenient to talk about it yet,” Ko Soe Pyay Min Htet, a member of Pale People Strike Committee, said.
Around 10,000 residents from the villages of Mya Gone, Kuko Gone, Nwe Shauk, Letpukan and Nawkan are urgently fleeing the war.
The damage caused during the battle and by the junta airstrike is unknown yet.
Mya Gone Village is the closest village to the west of Pale town, and the military column has to pass through Mya Gone Village whenever they leave from Pale town, Ko Soe Pyay Min Htet said.
