The Yesaygyo-based junta soldiers reportedly are preparing defenses only in the town without focusing on the patrols to villages.
Bo Meik Khe, the Myingyan Black Tiger leader said, “The military junta has built bunkers in the military bases inside Yesaygyo town, and it does not look like they will patrol the villages anymore”.
“Normally, a military base has only 1 or 2 bunkers, but now they have 4 or 5 bunkers. The military strength depends on the important situation. On the day when they heard the news that the defense forces are going to fight them, their strength often goes from 13 to 70 troops,” he said.
The military junta stations in the Police Station, General Hospital, Multiple Offices, Nyeinzarni Camp and Park inside Yesaygyo town. The junta strength regularly is around 300 troops, but if they leave a patrol, only around 200 troops remain inside the town, he said.
“The military doesn’t dare to patrol inside the city without force. Their strength is very low because they are helping all the way around. So, they are completely on the defensive. When they get news that they are going to be frightened, the troops from Pakokku and the troops outside the city come to reinforce,” he said.
After the start of the 1027 operation, the revolutionary forces attacked them inside the city two times, causing 10 soldiers killed and many injured, he added.
“The soldiers into Yesaygyo town are going daily traffic to the battalions outside Yesaygyo _ the Infantry Battalions (256), (257), (258) _ and it does not hear that Yesaygyo-based soldiers are being sent to the Northern Shan Region,” the in charge of Yesaygyo PDFs News and Information said.
The junta troops have been preparing the defenses for a long time. They are controlling the Pakokku Road near the military forces under Pakokku Division 101, so it is still easy to go to, he added.
The residents are living on high alert due to the frequent attacks by the PDFs into Yesaygyo and the patrols and arrests by the Yesaygyo military in the town’s wards, according to a Yesaygyo resident.
“Some people and the elderly have moved to other big cities. The PDFs often attack in Yesaygyo. So, on the day of the attack, people in the city do not go out because the junta troops oppress and arrest the people. If they patrol into the town’s wards, people don’t go out because of the arrests. People are all careful,” he said.
After the start of the 1027 operation, the Magway PDFs have increased their military speed and are attacking the junta troops into towns and villages of the junta militias at high speed.
