The military junta reportedly arrested a monk of Pinthapyay village who was having to repair his car at a car workshop _ in the east of Mogok city, Mandalay Region.
The monk was arrested yesterday evening, but the reason for his arrest is unknown yet.
“The military released another monk. But they arrested the monk of Pinthapyay, stripped him of his robes, and put him in a car. I don’t know why he was arrested,” a nearby resident said.
The military is reportedly conducting continuous checks and arrests in Mogok these days.
“There are a lot of arrests these days. A couple from Ohnkai were also arrested. I don’t know why those were arrested. The military junta doesn’t check on the streets very much, but they are chasing and arresting people in houses,” a Mogok resident said.
The three policemen reportedly ran away with their weapons from Kyat Pyin Police Station in the west of Mogok on November 26. After that, the military also arrested 6 civilians in Yeaye village.
