It is said that SAC’s army arrested 10 war refugees who came back from a charity that distributes rice and oil for free in Shwe Bo city.
According to People Defense Team – Shwebo township (Pa Ka Pha – Shwebo township), on 18 August, a Non-Government Organization (NGO) distributed rice and oil for free in a monastery in Shwebo city and war refugees who fled from villages burnt down by SAC’s army and village of Pyu Saw Htee militia, lined up for it and then on their way back SAC’s army arrested them.
“It is an NGO’s support. War refugees are facing long-term hardships. So, they went there without telling the respective Defense teams and Administrative teams (Pa Ka Pha and Pa Ah Pha). How can I blame them, they are in very difficult situations,” in charge of the People Defense Team – Shwebo township told MPA.
We still don’t know who delivers the information to arrest war refugees.
He analyzed that it seems like those who go to charity were arrested for living in control areas of Resistance Forces.
“People have to flee from the village of Pyu Saw Htee militia. Those who fled from Pyu Saw Htee militia’s village are considered as an enemy by militias. They know each other as a supporter of the resistance force if someone flees from their village. All the war refugees are people who fled from Pyu Saw Htee villages and villages burnt down by SAC’s army. People whose houses were not burnt down didn’t need to go to the charity,” he continued.
He said that he still doesn’t know the ages and sex of 10 arrested war refugees and where they were taken.
