On July 3, the terrorist SAC troops entered Taungpyauk Circuit in Thayetchaung Township, Dawei District, more than 7,000 people have been displaced and food is urgently needed, according to members of the Taungpyawt IDPs Assistance Team.
An official from the Daung Min Operation (Tha-Yet-Chaung People’s Defense Force – TYC P.D.F) said that a shootout reciprocally broke out between them on July 3 when the terrorist SAC troops launched its offensive in the area.
An official from the Daung Min Operation (TYC P.D.F) said, “The fighting has not happened again these days. The military is stationed in the village.” At present, the terrorist SAC has about 200 troops stationed hiding-patrolling in some villages in Taungpyawt Circuit, according to locals.
The TYC – PDF said, “Nearly 5,000 IDPs fled on July 3. Now, on the 5th and 6th, it has increased by 2,000. At present, there are more than 7000.” As a result, the number of IDPs has risen to more than 7,000, leaving only about a week’s supply of food for the previously prepared IDPs, in addition to rice and food, solar panels are also urgently needed to charge power banks and raincoats during the rainy season.
Currently, there are frequent clashes in Taungpyawt, and nearly 7,000 people in nine villages, including Yae Byat, Mae Kae, Kyauk Ai, Win Kafaw, Kyawe Chan, Lal Su, Yae Pu, Byat Wi Thar, Taungpyawt, are fleeing from the war. The terrorist SAC have cut food supplies in ‘four cuts’ strategy across Thayet Chaung, according to locals. Nearly 25,000 people have been displaced by the fighting in Tanintharyi Region since May, according to the IDPs assistance groups.
