It was reported from the Battalion No.15 of Company (1) Eagle Guerrilla Force of Shwebo District that the Military which returned after burning 5 villages in the western part of Welet Township, Sagaing Region, were attacked by 10 landmines.

At about 11:20 on March 3, the 60 strengths of the SAC Military that came out after burning the villages of Hlataw, Kyekan Taung, North, Sai Nainggyi and Bong Bawe, was attacked by mines between Bong Bong Bawe village and Ywaet village.

At 11:20, the column that came out after burning Sai Nai had reached Bong Bawe village and started the fire it. After leaving from Bong Bawe village, they laid mines on the road before reaching Ywa Thet village. They were walking on foot and they were attacked to the mine point. While hitting by mines, the guys took the felled guys and the rest of the guys were shooting. They retreated by shooting back.

We don’t have self propelled guns, and we can’t continue to follow them. If we had self propelled guns, we could shoot the soldiers that were lying down and the guys were taking with them. Now the column is also patrolling. Because we didn’t have self propelled guns, we only attacked them by the mines, so we don’t know if they were dead or not. Only later we know which village and where the soldier’s body was burned,” said Comrade Crook who is a battalion commander of Eagle Guerrilla Force.

While the column that was attacked by the mines was returning to Shwebo town, local defense forces fired 6 rockets near Zeetaw Bridge.

On March 2, the Eagle Guerrilla Force had announced that they had fired and attacked the SAC military by heavy weapons.
