It is known from the Zero Guerrilla Force that eight soldiers, including an officer, were killed when the People’s Defense Forces stormed and occupied the military camp in Thalebar Village, Ayardaw Township, Sagaing Region.
According to an official from the 7th Battalion of the Zero Guerrilla Force, the SAC Camp and the Pyu Saw Htee (militias of the SAC) Base Camp were attacked by the local defense forces at around 6:00 PM on Jan. 27.
“When we went there, we attacked with heavy weapons, a shell fell into the bunker, and the bodies lied in shambles, and there were blood spots on the road,” he said.
He also said that he witnessed the death of 35 Pyu Saw Htee after the People’s Defense Forces stormed the SAC camp.
The attack lasted for more than 5 hours, the military council camp was captured, and the soldiers and Pyu Saw Hti fled across the Mu River.
Regarding the death of the soldier and Pyu Saw Htee during the battle of Thalebar, the MPA has not been able to confirm it separately.
He also said that during the fighting, the elderly and children in the village were sent to other safe places.
