Pekon PDF announced that 62 soldiers including the platoon commander of the SAC military, were killed in the battle that took place for 3 months in Pekon in Shan-Kayah border.
“Many soldiers were also injured in the fighting around the west side of Pekon, which took place between April 1 and June 2, 2023,” an official of the PDF said.
“The battle has been going on for three months and a half. Now, the list is from four months until yesterday. The military officers and platoon commanders were killed,” he said.
During the 3-month battle, there were more than 50 counter clashes, and the battalions under the Division (66) of the Military Council patrolled by a column towards Lwoy Huai and Lwaoylong villages, and a column towards Kaung-Ei and Setow village and a column towards Latuvin the western part of Pekon.
“The air strikes are almost 30 days. The frequency of airstrike is more than 40 times,” he said.
The 3-month battle of Pekon were carried out jointly together Pekon PDF (Battalion-1002) along with KNDF, PDF-Loikaw, DMO-PDFs, DMO Local-PDFs, MBPDF (1001 and 1007), Battalions No. 1008, No.1009, No.1003, and KRU, NPT-PDF battalions and the Special Forces of the Central Region.
