After the guerilla protest “Truth is captured by a hundred mistakes” held in South Dagon Township, Yangon Region, Ko Waiyan Htet, who was arrested by the SAC, is in danger of his life. And the freelance journalist Toru Kubota, a Japanese documentary filmmaker who was arrested with Nway Oo Eaindray and Kaung Khant San being interrogated today, according to a friend of Ma Nway Oo Eaindray.
The incident happened last July 30, the Japanese citizen Toru Kubota and Ma Nway Oo Eaindray were arrested by the terrorist SAC and the police at the bus stop after the protest, according to a comrade who is conducting a ground strike.
After that, 17-year-old Ko Waiyan Htet was found hiding in a nearby house where the strike was cracked down, and he was beaten and arrested by the terrorist SAC, said a friend of Ma Nway Oo Eaindray.
“They hit the boy in the head with the butt of the gun, kicked him and cursed him, then punched him. The boy’s head is also broken. Eaindray was released not long ago. Now she’s been arrested again,” Ma Nway Oo Eaindray’s friend explained.
Among the arrests, the MPA has not yet confirmed the exact extent of the injuries related to the beating of Ko Waiyan Htet, and recently there are reports on social media that he died at the South Dagon police station.
When the MPA contacted an official from the Owl Community who helped with the South Dagon protest, the news that Ko Waiyan Htet was arrested was correct, he explained that he could not confirm the news of Kowai Yan’s death with certainty and that Ma Nway Oo Eaindray and other had arrived at the interrogation and was being inspected.
“People are asking for Toru Kubota, a Japanese citizen who was with the girl who was arrested today in Foreign Affairs Office from Japan. The girl had not eaten anything when she was arrested. She was arrested while protesting peacefully after donating blood. We are worried about her health situation,” explained an official of the Owl Community.
According to her family, Ma Nway Oo Eaindray, who was arrested yesterday on July 30, was released from Insein Prison in early June and has now been re-arrested.
Currently, the Owl Community is asking the MPA to “Speak Out” for the arrestees regarding the South Dagon incident and that they need a lot of help.
Last April 18, 2021, Yuki Kitazumi, a Japanese journalist, was arrested for the second time by the terrorist SAC on charges of disinformation distribution.
After that, journalist Yuki Kitazumi was deported by the terrorist SAC under the title of showing Japan-Myanmar diplomatic friendship and was released on May 14, 2021.
