Kachin Independence Army – KIA 9th Brigade during a concert to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of KIO Day in A Nang Pa. According to the locals, 58 people who came to the event, including some KIA soldiers and veteran Kachin artists, were killed and more than 50 were injured when the terrorist military bombed with jets.
An official from the 6th Battalion under the 9th Brigade told news media based in Kachin State that about 60 Kachin artists and civilians were killed and about 50 were injured due to the bomb attack.
They said that while the concert to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of the KIO, which will fall on October 25, was being held last night, at around 8:00 p.m., three jets were bombed by the SAC.
“Yes. They said with three jets. In the area under the control of the 9th KIA Brigade, which is called Anangpa, Hpakant. It is known that some Kachin artists went there. The people also said more than 30. They said more than 40 also. It’s not sure yet. We are still investigating. The phone lines are missing,” explained a Kachin resident in his 30s.
As a result of the bombardment, Aurali who is a singer of the Kachin Artist Association was killed, and some artists, including the former president of the Kachin Artist Association and actor Zau Ding, were injured, he continued.
“What you can see online are former Kachin artists. Zau Ding was famous before. He made movies and acted as a movie star. He also sang. He used to be the president of the Kachin Artists Association. The rest people are singers. They are people who are part of the artist association,” the Kachin resident explained again.
A famous Kachin singer, Aurali, was attacked while performing. Some local news reported that the military dropped three 1,000-pound shells, one of which directly hit the arena on Anangpa Mountain where the event was being held, and the other two exploded near the foot of the mountain.
According to the latest information, it is learned from local news reports, there are also reports that some KIA officers have been killed due to the airstrike.
