The Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) issued a statement on March 25 asking the people to provide all-round support from the resistance war to the offensive.
This is the first time in the revolution’s more than two years that the word “offensive” has been heard, and it is not an imaginary statement, as evidenced by the enemy’s ammunition seized during the battle released by the KNDF.
Since March 8th, three columns of 330 soldiers of the SAC have entered Demoso Township, Karenni State, and are fighting fiercely with the Karenni Joint Forces.
From March 20th to 23rd, the Karenni Joint Army launched a counter-offensive against the military troops stationed in Dawtamagyi village, in the eastern part of Demoso, killing more than 90 soldiers, including SAC military officers, and over 50 were injured, KNDF announced.
The number of dead soldiers could not be independently confirmed, but a large amount of ammunition seized suggests a possibility.
KNDF’s statement on March 25 was to inform the people that they were able to counter-attack while resisting the offensive Military in Demoso township and that there was a need to replenish ammunition in order to launch the vicious battles at a reasonable speed.
In the Karenni region, where the successful flag was hoisted during the spring revolution, the revolutionary army was fully equipped with a well-organized military formation system, but the constant need was for weapons and ammunition.
On March 25th, in the morning of Karen State, Myawaddy, Kawkareik, Kyondoe, and Kyain Seikgyi townships, the KNLA-led Revolutionary Joint Forces raided the military targets of the SAC.
The ethnic armed organizations, including the KNLA, have extensive military experience. The People’s Defense Force – PDF Army, trained and cultivated by the ethnic armed organizations, already has moderate combat experience under the command and control system, as well as the full strength of comrades who could fight.
As was the custom of the SAC troops, they were failing in many ground battles, and every time they failed, they would turn on the communication devices and call for the Air to come quickly. Even if the Air support has arrived, the only resistance of the revolutionary forces is to retreat in a hurry, and the words of NUG government spokespersons that they already have anti-aircraft weapons are missing enough to think that they were just boasting.
The main weakness of the revolutionary forces is ammunition. The SAC Military has a variety of modern weapons as well as Air superiority, but the revolutionary forces still have to calculate the value of a bullet and even think about bending a finger.
On March 8, the annual intelligence assessment report released by the US National Intelligence Directorate said that the opposition forces opposing the SAC needed outside help.
Although there is indeed an urgent need for external assistance, to date the assistance of the international community has been non-existent except for the non-military assistance of the United States. Therefore, the persistence of Myanmar people both inside and outside the country is the only way to achieve victory.
On the other hand, due to the sanctions of the international community, it is certain that the SAC’s income streams are gradually decreasing. Therefore, it also depends on who will be able to endure the current Spring Revolution.
Being able to go to the offensive from the resistance war and that revolution be able to lead to a final victory depends mainly on our People’s ability to contribute and endure.
