The Ministry of Human Rights of the National Unity Government stated in the record on March 23th from 2021 to 2023 that the SAC Military terrifyingly committed the massacres of the civilians in total of 64 times and a total of 766 people have been killed.
The shooting of the Military was brutal. The 64th massacre of civilians was happened nearly on March 11th, not long ago. On 11th March, after the military arrived in Nam Naine village, Pinglaung Township, they burned down the people’s homes and arrived at the village monastery. They dragged out the civilians hiding in the monastery and brutally shot 3 monks and 19 locals behind the wall of the monastery.
Why did the SAC Military, who mutters about religion endlessly, kill 3 monks of God’s son without reason? The 19 of the local people were hiding in the religious area thinking that there would be peace. However, the terrible cruelty of the war monsters did not spare the lives of the innocent civilians who were in the shadow of God.
On March 1st and 2nd, the military committed a massacre in Ta Tai village, Sagaing Township. The military captured a Pakafa (PDF) leader, and cut off his head and hand and pierced his stomach, as well as also brutally killed 16 innocent people who were captured as human shields.
The international community had to take notice of the SAC military’s targeted massacres. Many lives were lost day and night, and the people of Myanmar, who were struggling to survive with their own blood, were not surprised.
In 2021, there were massacres by the military in 9 times, and 147 people were killed; in 2022, there were massacres in 44 times, and 515 people were killed, and until March 13 this year, there were massacres in 11 times, and 103 people were killed.
If we look back at the numbers of massacres by year, there were only 9 times in 2021, 44 times in 2022 and 11 times within 3 months in 2023. It is evident that the brutal killings by the military have become uncontrollable.
In addition, the special feature of the Pinglaung massacre on March 11 is that it was killed when the UN Security Council was about to hold a closed-door meeting on Myanmar issues.
On March 13th, the Security Council of the United Nations discussed the issue of Myanmar. They reviewed whether the Security Council’s decision on the issue of Myanmar adopted on December 21, 2022 was being followed or not, as well as Ms. Nolin Heza, the UN Secretary General’s special representative for Myanmar, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia also presented the issue of Myanmar to the Security Council.
Because it was a closed-door meeting, it is not known what was discussed, but on March 16, in her report to UN member states at the United Nations General Assembly, Ms. Nolin Heza said that after the SAC military extended the emergency period last February, it has increased the fight by targeting of civilians. This statement means in another way, is that the Military of the SAC did not follow the decision of the Security Council. In addition, and she also mentioned the Pinlaung massacre.
If Ms. Nolin Heza’s report on Myanmar affairs is summarized, she said that the SAC military does not care about anyone to maintain their power and kills the people of Myanmar at will.
It is true that the UN’s actions on Myanmar are not effective until today, but it must be considered that it is moving towards the effectiveness. Therefore, Mrs. Nolin Heza’s report on Myanmar is putting a rope around the neck of the SAC Military at United Nations meeting. There is no antidote for the Military of the SAC.
Ms. Nolin Heza, the UN Secretary-General’s special representative for Myanmar, said on 16 March that the people of Myanmar do not believe on the SAC Military that seized the power.
Yesterday, she had presented the findings to international ambassadors at the United Nations General Assembly.
He also said that the military of the SAC seized the power is preparing to hold an election to maintain power as a junta.
The violence may worsen due to the election of the SAC Military, in a situation where there are no inclusive political discussion and people do not have political freedom.
She said that the people of Myanmar have absolutely no believe the SAC military. The military is only intended to emerge a government provided by the military in the long term, from a emergency situation controlled by the power.
She said that the military seized the power had extended the period of emergency declaration last February. After that, the fighting and attacking by air force became to intensified as well as the human rights violations, including burning down the homes of civilians are increasing.
Despite the repression, people around Myanmar are still rebelling against the military of the SAC in a non-violent way. The generations who had passed through a short period of developing to democracy in Myanmar, especially young people are facing serious difficulties and are disappointed. It is believed that they have chosen to to oppose the SAC Military because they have no choice.
At the end of last year, the United Nations Security Council made a decision to follow up on the Myanmar issue, but the violence did not stop as stated in that decision. Ms. Nolin Heza also pointed out that all those arrested, including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, have not been released.
He also said that the SAC military had amended the Arms Act with the aim of allowing those loyal to him to take up arms, and that martial orders had been issued in 74 townships.
In her report, Ms. Nolin Heza also mentioned the activities of the National Unity Government (NUG).
“Despite the SAC military accusing the resistance revolutionary groups of being terrorists, the National Unity Government (NUG) is pointing out the brutality of the SAC military. The NUG also condemns the killings committed by the PDF forces and warns against inhuman acts. As both sides are intensifying their attacks, there is no possibility of a negotiation between the two sides.”In the report of the Special Representative for Myanmar, he also mentioned about the Rohingya issue.
She said that when she visited the Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh, the Rohingyas said they wanted to go home. Such a return home should be safe and free. Currently, the SAC military and Arakan Army (AA) have a ceasefire of fighting. It is seen that the military is preparing the Rohingya repatriation issues. It should be in accordance with the international standards and be successful task.
At a meeting held at the United Nations yesterday, Myanmar Ambassador, U Kyaw Moe Tun showed slide-pictures of the death bodies of those who were killed by the SAC military. The international community are asked for assistance to the Myanmar people.
I want to ask you to save lives by stopping weapons, aircraft oil and money from getting into the hands of the military: to send humanitarian aid through the border directly to those who really need it; to protect Myanmar refugees in the respective countries; to take action against those who commit war crimes and those who are exempted from punishment, and to transfer to ICC or ICJ international courts; not to accept the representatives of the military of the SAC; to accept the sham election that will be held by the SAC Military; and I would like to ask the UN members and the international community to cooperate with groups that are active for federal democracy, including the National Unity Government (NUG), NUCC and ethnic groups.
Ms. Nolin Heza came to Myanmar last year and met with the military leader of the SAC. At that time, I asked to be allowed to meet Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, but the military leader refused.
At the press conference after submitting the report yesterday, she answered as follows when a reporter asked him if she would go to Myanmar again.
“I won’t go back without meaning, because I will never go back. If I really get to do it, I really have to be in the change. If I can make a change, I’ll go.”
Currently, there are meetings and discussions with the officials of the National Unity Government (NUG). She also said that being able to meet everyone is important to her.
