U Tin Tun Naing, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment, said that the NUG project has received 3 billion kyats of tax collection within 7 months, focusing on entrepreneurs from the 38 jurisdictional areas of the National Unity Government.
The above tax collection of the NUG Project was announced at a press conference of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment today.
U Tin Tun Naing, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment explained that we are working systematically and planning. The organizations on the ground are also collecting taxes, in accordance with the policy established by NUG. We are not burdening the public who are in difficulty at this time, but only targeting the entrepreneurs and collecting them on the businesses”.
“The 3 billion tax revenue received from NUG’s 38 jurisdictional areas is the tax revenue received during the 7-month period from June to the end of December in 2022, the project,” an official of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment said.
“We laid down the administrative procedures since last year. When operating the tax system, some townships operated after the policy was issued. Some townships cannot operate.
There is tax revenue that has not yet been collected. When they are different from one township to another, it is difficult for us to tell from where to collect and from which month to collect,” an official of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment said.
The Union Minister said that a policy has been set to use 30 % of the tax funds received by NUG for the Union level, 30 % of the tax funds for the Public Administration Organization and 40 % of the tax funds for Public Defense Force (PDF).
