It is known from the Pyithu Arman Force (PDF) that “the local defense forces attacked by mines the 30 strengths of the SAC Military column, and the two soldiers and Win Chain, an administrator of Thayet Kan village were killed”.
It is known that “at around 4:20 p.m., on 28 January, around 60 strengths of the Military forces and Pyusawhti were stationed Thayet Kan village, and the 30 strength of the Military column that came out after receiving a gunshot near Thayet Kan village was attacked by mines.”
“I heard that the captain in Thayet Kan is a harsh person. We called them from the west of the village by the sound of gunshots. They came out by two motorcycles, one car and on foot. There are about 30 strengths in total. They came out by shooting heavy weapons and small arms from the village. When they arrived at in our mine field, only the 4 landmines were explored. The only landmines hit the two motorcycles in front of the column. The remote mines did not explode. After explosion of landmines, they fired around by shouting loudly and returned into the village,” the leader of Pyithu Arman Force (PDF) said.
It is known that “the attack was carried out by Pyithu Arman Force (PDF) and MUGDF, Storm force, the Squadron (N0.4) of Sakyar Defense Force (Myaing-Pakafa), that are allied forces. After the attack, the soldiers and Pyusawhti did not move forward. They shouted and fired by heavy weapons and small arms and returned to Thayet Kan village”.
Regarding the death of the SAC Military’s soldiers, the MPA has not been able to confirm it yet. On 26 January, 7 soldiers who were shopping at water factory in Kaitawma where the SAC Military stationed, were attacked and fired, and the two soldiers of them were killed.
