(Ma) Myo Myo Khin (code-name) said that the savings of the previous good times have run out, and she is worried about living and is perplexed about it. However, it doesn’t matter, she said she just walked on what she believed and then moved on.
It will be 2 years since the coup on coming February 1st. It will be 2 years since her CDM. During those times, she said that she had encountered various difficulties.
For a teacher who disliked the dictator and joined CDM, the period of almost 2 years was quite difficult to face. She has been able to maintain a frugal system of spending money from the past, so she can be tolerable.
“Now I don’t know what to do. I feel like I’m alone. I had little savings before, so it’s not as hard as others (those who are so hard),” said (Ma) Myo Myo Khin.
She, who spent almost 2 years without a job, explained that she sometimes thought of working as a sale, but it was a job she was not skilled at and could not implement it.
For the 42-year-old (Ma) Mu Mu Khin and her husband, feel relief that they don’t have any redundant expenses and children. Throughout the coup period, the couple had to live and eat their meals randomly for the day.
In the past, she said that it was convenient for them to get by on her salary in addition to her husband’s writing fees. Now her husband can’t even write. The couple was both clear that they did not want to do anything close to the SAC.
“My husband told me that if it doesn’t change in the next one or two years, he’s going to do a job. Now, it’s the same. Little by little, I’m getting depressed,” she said.
Early after the coup, many employees joined the anti-dictatorship demonstrations and opposed the coup. Some of them tried to leave the workplace, but due to personal difficulties at the time, they did not have the opportunity, and there are employees who continue to work under the SAC.
There are also some people who are unable to stand and return to the SAC after a long period of CDM.
Although she didn’t take up arms against the SAC, among the people who joined the CDM from the life of government servants to oppose the coup by the SAC during the Myanmar Spring Revolution, she is still standing strong.
“Nowadays, it is not easy to stand without income. We have also lost our lifestyles. I know that people are working again under the SAC. I feel peculiar in my mind. I feel like we have lost,” she said.
In addition to the presence of such situations, she said that she felt that it was like a situation that became exclusive to their couple because of the normal living behavior even among their relatives and friends.
Since joining the CDM, she just has been living in Myanmar with her husband, so they have been living in secret. However, her belief and spirit did not change, and her husband also stood as a talent complement.
For nearly 2 years, while Ma Myo Myo Khin has been rebelling by disobeying the SAC, she said she knew that she was in a downward spiral mentally, socially, and economically, but she does not change her decision.
If the times were good again, Ma Myo Myo Khin, who is bent on to return to her job as a teacher, said, “It’s what everyone wants. I’m hoping for the best. If the country is comfortable, it’s worth paying for it.” She said the words showing her vitality, expecting a fruit for her belief.
