Two women were killed and six others injured when a military junta airstrike hit the dining area of a traditional medicine factory in Kamma town, Pakokku Township, Magway Region, during lunchtime.
Three bombs were dropped by a paramotor launched from No. 22 Defense Industry (Ka Pa Sa 22) in Seikphyu Township, striking the Chan Seint Traditional Medicine Factory on the outskirts of Kamma town, according to the People’s Administration Team – Kamma Township (Pa Ah Pha – Kamma).
A member of Pa Ah Pha – Kamma told MPA, “The traditional medicine factory employs mostly female workers. The bombs landed on the workers’ dining table during lunch time.”
The two women died from severe injuries after being taken to a clinic.
According to the source, the area is not known to host resistance forces, suggesting that the strike was a deliberate attack on civilians.
“The junta deliberately dropped the bombs, knowing it was a workplace for local women,” he added.
Resistance forces reportedly shot at a paramotor launched from Ka Pa Sa 22 on March 5, injuring a soldier.
